How can Motorcyclists benefit from Advanced Riding?

With ever increasing volumes of traffic it is essential that every motorcyclist has receives the highest standards of instruction to survive the everyday dangers they face. Whether an experienced or new rider, advanced riding guidance through RoADAR is the best training available to prepare you to face these dangers.

How does it work?

On becoming an Associate member, you are assigned to a Tutor (previously known as an Observer) who will carry out an initial assessment of your riding style and skills and then provide guidance in practical sessions. The Tutor's time and advice is provided free, but you are expected to make a contribution towards the fuel of your Tutor, who uses His or Her own bike for the practical sessions.

Your Tutor will identify the areas of your riding that could benefit from advanced riding guidance and will then follow a path introducing you to Advanced Riding Techniques, based on the Police Roadcraft Motorcycling Manual.

At no time will you feel embarrassed as all Tutors are trained to make you feel at ease.

When you have progressed to a high standard of riding, you will be recommended to take the RoSPA Advanced Riding Test, where, if successful, will be awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze award as recognition of your achievement.

As of July 2006, RoADAR Northeast is affiliated to the British Motorcyclists Federation http://www.bmf.co.uk
